Mark Cole Elected HLP’s Chief Executive Officer, President
New Leader to Expand Capabilities for HLP’s Communications Platform

BALTIMORE, August 16, 2017 HLP, formerly Hope LoanPort, announced that Mark Cole has been elected HLP’s new chief executive officer and president, as well as a member of the HLP board of directors, effective today.

“Under Mark’s leadership, HLP has expanded its platform to provide a full cycle of mortgage products for mortgage companies, government agencies and the advocacy sector,” said Faith Schwartz, HLP’s board chair and co-founder. “He is laser-focused on products and services on homeownership readiness as well as the traditional home retention loss mitigation work with the lenders and housing counseling community.”

Cole is a seasoned professional who has spent his career in the non-profit sector. He has been HLP’s executive vice president and chief strategy officer since 2014, responsible for developing the strategy to expand HLP’s platform to provide foreclosure and bankruptcy mediation and help government housing agencies modernize their technology. He has also expanded HLP’s work in the advocacy sector and led the development of new digital products to help prospective homeowners with damaged credit qualify for a mortgage loan, thereby giving them more control over the home buying process. Before joining HLP, Cole served as a senior-level executive in the nonprofit financial counseling sector for more than 25 years, most recently as chief operating officer for the nation’s second largest nonprofit credit counseling agency.

Cole succeeds Cam Melchiorre, one of HLP’s co-founders who left after six years as HLP’s chief executive officer to become president of IndiSoft, HLP’s technology partner. Schwartz expressed her gratitude for Melchiorre’s leadership and dedication since HLP was founded in 2009. Melchiorre joins HLP’s longtime technology partner, Sanjeev Dahiwadkar, and will continue to work closely with HLP to build products and solutions on IndiSoft’s RxOffice platform.

Since HLP’s creation, the nonprofit has provided foreclosure prevention and homeownership readiness solutions for more than 500,000 homeowners.
